I am a wife, married 24 years to a talented musician and artist who is either patient or crazy, and we have one son, who is 18 and a brilliant musician as well.
I just went through my fourth downsizing in November 2009 and am unemployed AGAIN. I write and paint and play music, mostly drums. I am a future cat lady, a tree-hugger, a bit of a control freak and the black sheep of my family. I am a news junkie, and a closet comedian. I have been published many times, but my brief time reviewing music was my favorite job in journalism.
I look young for my age and intend to keep it that way. I hate the thought of getting old. I have odd collections, like Converse shoes, boots, anything music-related and cat figurines. I like to think I am a MILF.
I support the fight to cure Crohn’s disease, the legalization of marijuana, and a woman’s right to choose. “Live and let live” is my Golden Rule.
Sarcasm and laughter are my favorite defense mechanisms.
I was born and raised in the South, the daughter of an abusive, racist Baptist deacon and a mother with no opinions that I know of. I’m sure that is why I will say things that are sometimes shocking, usually things that no one around me has the courage to say.
And that’s just how I roll.
